Fin de l’Histoire, dit-on. Dans la nuit du temps les peintres de la caverne nous font signe. L’entrée de la grotte Chauvet surplombe le paysage où coule l’Ardèche. L’été, des milliers de touristes se rassemblent au bord de l’eau. Des groupes de spéléologues cherchent la moindre anfractuosité dans la roche. Deux enfants trouvent un passage.
The end of History, they say. In the mists of time, the cave painters beckon to us. The entrance to the Chauvet cave overlooks the landscape where the river Ardèche flows. In summer, thousands of tourists flock to the water’s edge. Groups of speleologists search for the slightest crevice in the rock. Two children find a passage.
